Halo: Campaign Evolved Skulls and Remix Mechanics Guide
A self-contained guide explaining the three collectible skulls and Remix mode in Halo: Campaign Evolved, detailing their effects, activation, and strategic use.

Skull collection mechanics
In Halo: Campaign Evolved, each alien-infested mission contains exactly three hidden skulls that players must locate to activate. These are collectible artifacts that modify gameplay when activated, with no limit on how many can be used simultaneously.
How it works
- Skulls are hidden within each mission environment and require exploration to find.
- Once collected, they remain active for the duration of the campaign session unless manually deactivated.
Source boundary: Skulls only affect the current campaign session; they do not persist across different playthroughs or save files without re-collecting.

Bandana Skull effect
The Bandana Skull grants infinite ammunition for all weapons, removing the need to manage magazine reloads or weapon capacity constraints during combat.
How it works
- Activating the Bandana Skull disables all ammo depletion mechanics for firearms.
- Weapons retain their base fire rate and damage, but never run out of rounds.
Source boundary: Does not affect grenades, plasma weapons, or other non-ammunition-based tools like the plasma pistol's charge mechanic.

Remix mode functionality
Remix mode automatically generates a randomized sequence of missions from the campaign, allowing players to experience the game in a non-linear fashion without manual selection.
How it works
- Upon selecting Remix, the game shuffles the order of missions and may substitute certain levels based on player preferences or availability.
- Substitutions are permitted, meaning some missions may be replaced with alternate versions or similar content.
Source boundary: Remix does not alter core mission objectives or unlock new content beyond what is already available in the standard campaign.
